The prescribed work

  1. On a covered Saturday, make a pilgrimage to Antipolo Cathedral. Before its publicly venerated Marian image, spend suitable time in reflection, prayer or another work of Christian devotion for God’s glory.
  2. Pray for peace and concord among peoples against present-day errors. Conclude with the Our Father, Creed and invocations to Mary, Queen of Peace and Mother of Mercy.
  3. Fulfil the usual plenary conditions with repentance and charity.

The work and its conditions

A plenary indulgence also requires complete detachment from every sin, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, subject to the grant’s stated exceptions. The ordinary limit is one plenary indulgence per day.

Conditions common to every indulgence

The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.

Read the full conditions and norms. The cited grant and its specific provisions govern.

Time required

Read each branch with its own conditions. An editorial estimate is not a prescribed minimum.

Pilgrimage and suitable prayer before the cathedral image

Duration varies

A suitable period of reflection and prayer; no fixed minute count

The decree prescribes a suitable period of reflection, prayer or devotion before the public image, including specified intercessions and concluding prayers. It does not turn this into a numerical minimum. Allow time for the complete devotional work, not just the final formulas.

Occasion and source notes

Saturday celebrations only within the decree’s stated period. The cathedral and international shrine are the same church. For the individually dated church visit, Norm 14 permits the visit from noon on the preceding day until midnight ending the observance. Follow the local calendar and access hours. The required pilgrimage, prayers, eligibility and frequency limits remain in force; attending an actual rite is still necessary if that is the chosen alternative. A preceding-day opening is shown only when both that opening and the observance fall within the documented grant or review period.

The cathedral publishes the complete institutional English translation. The decree was issued on 27 February 2026 but states a celebration period beginning 6 December 2025. These routes concern the cathedral; they do not establish conditions for the separate 25-church diocesan programme. This card follows the cathedral’s published translation; the original Latin has not been inspected.

Prayer texts and resources

Follow the prayer count and formula specified in the requirements. The two Creed readers are alternatives.
