Ferentino: gathering of pilgrims at Sant’Antonio Abate
Join the devotional gathering of pilgrims at Sant’Antonio Abate and complete its prescribed worship or prayers.
Time required Variable: time for the devotional gathering and prescribed act
- When
- When a group of pilgrims gathers there for devotion
- Where
- Church of Sant’Antonio Abate, Via Stella Ponte Sant’Antonio, Ferentino, Italy
- Who
- All eligible faithful visiting this church on the stated occasion
- Application
- Self or the departed
The prescribed work
- Devoutly visit the church of Sant’Antonio Abate in Ferentino on the qualifying occasion.
- Join the devotional gathering of pilgrims; an individual visit without that gathering does not fulfil this group route.
- There either participate in a sacred celebration, or at least devoutly recite the Our Father and Creed.
- Fulfil the usual plenary conditions, including complete detachment from sin.
The work and its conditions
A plenary indulgence also requires complete detachment from every sin, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, subject to the grant’s stated exceptions. The ordinary limit is one plenary indulgence per day.
Conditions common to every indulgence
The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.
Read the full conditions and norms. The cited grant and its specific provisions govern.

Time for the pilgrim gathering and its worship or prayers
No numerical minimum is prescribed. The complete required gathering and any prescribed pilgrimage activity are included; the brief prayer component alone is not the whole work.
What the time estimate excludes
- Ordinary travel to and from the venue, and waiting outside the prescribed work
- Preparation and separately fulfilled sacramental conditions
Occasion and source notes
The complete contemporaneous Italian decree translation is republished by the local Pro Loco; the current diocese explicitly confirms continued application of the 2001 concession. The signed Latin original has not been inspected. The concession expressly remains valid in perpetuity.
