Holy See anniversary concession, as reported by CBCP News and Radio Veritas Asia
Philippine Military Ordinariate: anniversary visit to a designated jubilee church
Devoutly visit a church actually designated for the Military Ordinariate’s fortieth-anniversary jubilee.
Time required Devout visit and prescribed prayers; no fixed minute total established
- When
- During the fortieth-anniversary jubilee opened on 31 July 2026, subject to the actual local designation and concession. The institutional reports describe a yearlong celebration but do not reproduce the exact legal beginning or ending clause.
- Where
- Only churches actually designated for the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines’ current fortieth-anniversary jubilee. The complete current list has not been recovered; not every military chapel is thereby eligible.
- Who
- The faithful who fulfil the prescribed visit at an actually designated jubilee church; the reports do not restrict this work to military personnel.
- Application
- Self or the departed
The prescribed work
- Visit a church actually designated for the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines’ fortieth-anniversary jubilee, during its locally confirmed period of designation. A church’s inclusion in the separate 2025 ordinary Jubilee list does not establish this designation.
- During the church visit, pray the Our Father and a profession of faith under the general rule in Norm 19, unless the particular concession provides otherwise. Follow the actual local anniversary devotional directions.
- Fulfil the usual plenary conditions: sacramental confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the Pope’s intentions and complete detachment from every sin.
The work and its conditions
A plenary indulgence also requires complete detachment from every sin, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, subject to the grant’s stated exceptions. The ordinary limit is one plenary indulgence per day.
Conditions common to every indulgence
The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.
Read the full conditions and norms. The cited grant and its specific provisions govern.
Time required
Read each branch with its own conditions. An editorial estimate is not a prescribed minimum.

Occasion and source notes
Documented availability in this library begins 31 July 2026. This marks the period supported by the reviewed evidence, not an independently established legal commencement date.
No preceding-noon extension of the whole anniversary interval is inferred. The separately reported August wedding and September diocesan Mass are not used to create an unrestricted Mass-attendance alternative.
Documented availability begins with the reported 31 July 2026 opening. The 1 July 2027 recheck is editorial, deliberately before the expected anniversary of that opening; it is not a legal expiry. The exact rescript term, complete designation list and any further alternatives or impeded provisions remain under review.
The bounded visit work and Holy See attribution are positively stated in the CBCP and RVA reports. Norm 19 is applied transparently as the ordinary church-visit rule; these prayers are not represented as a quotation of the unrecovered rescript. Actual designation for this anniversary remains necessary.
