The prescribed work

  1. Make a pilgrimage on a designated date or first Friday; alternatively, make an individual or group pilgrimage on another day and participate in jubilee acts.
  2. Pray the Creed and fulfil the usual conditions.
  3. For an indulgenced church visit, recite the Our Father and Creed in accordance with general Norm 19 unless the particular decree provides otherwise.
  4. For the specifically announced 31 October 2026 diocesan observance, participate in the 11:00 Mass and receive Holy Communion during that celebration, with sacramental confession and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, as the diocese directs. A private earlier visit does not replace that event.

The work and its conditions

A plenary indulgence also requires complete detachment from every sin, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, subject to the grant’s stated exceptions. The ordinary limit is one plenary indulgence per day.

Conditions common to every indulgence

The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.

Read the full conditions and norms. The cited grant and its specific provisions govern.

Occasion and source notes

The named celebrations and first Fridays are dated here; pilgrimage with jubilee acts is also possible on other days within the concession. The diocese’s October 2026 notices identify an actual 31 October Mass and expressly place Communion within that celebration. The preceding-noon rule does not replace the announced rite; no blanket previous-day flag is inferred for this mixed schedule.

The October 2025 announcement confirms receipt of the Apostolic Penitentiary’s concession. The earlier 1 October diocesan decree had announced that indulgences would be requested; it is not treated as the operative apostolic grant. The current October 2026 directions specify the work for the 31 October diocesan Mass. Other named occasions and the pilgrimage-with-jubilee-acts route retain their published conditions.
