Apostolic Penitentiary, communication of 17 March 2026, Prot. 306–307/26/I, as promulgated by CEPCOM
CEPCOM jubilee: communicators’ visit to a designated church
Catholic communicators may make a devout visit to the church specifically designated by the local ordinary for Mexico’s CEPCOM jubilee.
Time required About 3–5 minutes for the required prayers during the devout visit; allow time for local directions
- When
- 22 October 2026–20 October 2027, subject to the particular church’s lawful designation.
- Where
- A church specifically designated by the local ordinary for the CEPCOM jubilee in a diocese of Mexico. This entry does not designate every church or identify a particular cathedral by inference.
- Who
- Catholic communicators covered by CEPCOM’s published jubilee directions; broader eligibility reported in earlier summaries awaits the full text.
- Application
- Self or the departed
The prescribed work
- Be among the faithful communicators addressed by CEPCOM’s jubilee directions.
- During 22 October 2026–20 October 2027, devoutly visit a church specifically designated for this jubilee by the local ordinary in a Mexican diocese. Verify that designation and any local instructions before planning the visit.
- During the church visit, recite the Our Father and the Creed under the general rule of Norm 19, unless the particular concession provides otherwise.
- Fulfill the usual plenary conditions: sacramental confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the Pope’s intentions and complete detachment from every sin.
The work and its conditions
A plenary indulgence also requires complete detachment from every sin, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, subject to the grant’s stated exceptions. The ordinary limit is one plenary indulgence per day.
Conditions common to every indulgence
The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.
Read the full conditions and norms. The cited grant and its specific provisions govern.
Time required
Read each branch with its own conditions. An editorial estimate is not a prescribed minimum.

Occasion and source notes
The year-long grant interval is not expanded to noon of the preceding day by the rule for a church visit attached to a specified feast day.
The commission’s own report identifies the requested church visit as granted by the Penitentiary. The general church-visit prayers are supplied by Norm 19. A nationwide list of designated churches and the full rescript have not been recovered; no additional event, remote alternative, or automatic eligibility of an undesignated church is inferred.
Prayer texts and resources
Follow the prayer count and formula specified in the requirements. The two Creed readers are alternatives.
