Conditions common to every indulgence
The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.

Annual spiritual exercises followed by promise renewal
Complete the prescribed event
Full rite or event; duration varies
The entire annual retreat or course of spiritual exercises is part of this route. The particular grant gives no numeric duration; do not import the separate general three-day-retreat rule or estimate only the closing promise.
Elapsed requirement Complete the annual spiritual-exercises course before renewing the promises; its length is not fixed by this grant.
What the time estimate excludes
- Ordinary travel and waiting; a pilgrimage itself remains part of the work where required.
- Separate fulfillment of the usual plenary conditions, except prayers or Mass expressly included in the branch.
- Stated start
- 4 January 2023
- Editorial review due
- 4 January 2030. This is not a legal expiry date.
Occasion and source notes
Dates show customary Roman or proper religious-family celebrations. Follow lawful liturgical transfers and the grant’s own local calendar. Membership, place, frequency and other conditions remain necessary.
The decree states seven years from 4 January 2023. Review the grant before its January 2030 anniversary; the publication does not spell out an inclusive final date.
