Application

The prescribed work

  1. Be an actual member of the Vincentian Association of the Children of Mary Immaculate, whose updated form is Vincentian Marian Youth. A similar Marian group name alone does not establish this membership.
  2. On actual enrollment or one of the shared occasions listed below, express or renew, at least interiorly, the intention to observe the association’s statutes.
  3. Fulfill the usual plenary conditions: sacramental confession, Holy Communion, prayer for the Pope’s intentions, and complete detachment from every sin.

The work and its conditions

A plenary indulgence also requires complete detachment from every sin, sacramental confession, Holy Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions, subject to the grant’s stated exceptions. The ordinary limit is one plenary indulgence per day.

Conditions common to every indulgence

The person gaining an indulgence must be baptized, not excommunicated, and in the state of grace at least when the prescribed works are completed. There must be at least a general intention to gain indulgences, and the prescribed work must be performed at the time and in the manner required by the grant.

Read the full conditions and norms. The cited grant and its specific provisions govern.

Time required

Read each branch with its own conditions. An editorial estimate is not a prescribed minimum.

Enrollment or a shared member occasion

Duration varies

No fixed number of minutes is prescribed

Actual membership and a qualifying occasion are necessary. The statutory intention may be expressed or renewed interiorly; no invented prayer formula or numeric duration is added. Actual admission procedures and separately fulfilled plenary conditions may require additional time.

Occasion and source notes

Documented availability in this library begins 27 October 1995. This marks the period supported by the reviewed evidence, not an independently established legal commencement date.

These membership occasions do not receive the preceding-noon church-visit window. The named celebrations follow the association’s lawful liturgical calendar. The patronage and institutional anniversary are not silently equated with St Vincent’s ordinary feast or a papal approval date.

The official journal expressly renews both concessions in perpetuity. The display begins on 27 October 1995 as the evidence boundary for the reviewed renewals, not as the association’s original foundation or first privilege date. Current statutes establish institutional continuity; they are not presented as a new indulgence grant.

This bounded route includes only the occasions positively shared by both formal 1995 renewals for the Daughters and Sons of Mary. The same official publication already describes the association as coeducational, and current international statutes explicitly establish continuity. St Catherine Labouré and St Louise de Marillac appear in Protocol 117 but not Protocol 118; their application across present branches remains in the research queue rather than being silently combined.
