Occasion and source notes
Follow the proper local calendar. The current proper places the Passion commemoration on the Friday before Ash Wednesday; the original rescript gives its former pre-Lent date. St Paul of the Cross is 19 October in the general proper, with 20 October in some local calendars. Annunciation, St Joseph and Immaculate Conception use standard Roman transfer rules where listed. The applicable local or proper calendar, lawful external solemnity and any specific indult govern the actual observance.
