How the estimate was made

Measured the complete English prayer body in the approved 2006 Manual; heading and adjacent grant text excluded. Editorial vocal pace 100–160 words/minute, outward rounding.

Estimate covers the complete formula at the linked source, not surrounding liturgical rites, chanting, pauses or other grant conditions. No required minimum duration is stated by this estimate.

Greek source

Byzantine evening prayer — Greek form, Roman Ieratikon (1950) · PDF page 14, printed page 14: lower half, under Prayer of the Entrance (Εὐχὴ τῆς Εἰσόδου); the formula ends at Amen on the same page.

The Greek Ieratikon published in Rome in 1950 bears the approval and permission of the Holy See (PDF page 4); its public scan is linked by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Patriarchal Liturgical Commission. This historical Greek liturgical form is fuller than the Manual’s English formula: it includes the petition that prayer rise like incense and a reference to thoughts of evil. It is an edition-specific source, not a literal Greek parallel to the English Manual or a requirement to recite the surrounding Vespers rite. The words evening, morning and noon are part of the prayer; they do not add a noon deadline.
